What is Matterport?
Matterport is a brand name for 3D Walkthrough technology that allows clients to easily navigate through a home or office at your personal leisure, similar to Google "Streetview". This technology also gives a sense of space and layout of the building structure, thereby allowing clients to envision themselves in the location.
How does Matterport work?
The Matterport camera utilizes six inferred (IR) sensors and three cameras to scan an area and measure its position in space. Each scan is then "stitched" together to create a seamless walkthrough. However, because the Matterport cameras use IR sensors to calculate its position, sunlight can interfere with the accuracy of said scans. This is why it is best to scan a space during the morning or evening to allow for the most accurate scans.
